This module creates either a dump from the database or creates a zipfile including the files in the WBCE directory on the server in the /temp directory.

The file system zip is offered to be downloaded when the backup is complete. Also, former backups and logs can be downloaded via the tool until they are deleted from the server.

Directories to be excluded and logging options can be set in the /modules/backup/config.php.

Please note that under certain circumstances (huge amount of data to save due to lots of media files and/or big external apps like owncloud/nextcloud in the same directory as WBCE) the zip file might not be complete if the server runs in FastCGI modus and the max_execution_time is too short.

Before performing a backup, you have to set the max_execution_time in the server configuration / customer center of your webhoster to the maximum allowed amount and/or add directories to ignore to the module configuration.

IMPORTANT! Prior versions did not save the image directory of the module "News with images" (/mmedia/.news_img). This issue is fixed in v. 2.9.13. If you use NWI, it is mandatory to update the backup module to make sure that your backup is complete!

Note: To unpack the zipfile locally (if needed), do not use the built-in unzipper of Windows, because there might appear some issues. Better use a tool like 7-zip.

Dieses Backup-Tool erstellt entweder einen Abzug der Datenbank oder schreibt alle Dateien im Dateisystem auf dem Server in eine Zip-Datei.

Das Dateisystem-Backup wird als Zip gespeichert und kann direkt aus dem Modul heraus heruntergeladen werden, sobald es fertiggestellt wurde.

Vorherige Backups und Logfiles werden auf dem Server zum Download vorgehalten und können über das Tool erneut heruntergeladen oder endgültig gelöscht werden.

In der modules/backup/config.php können Verzeichnisse angegeben werden, die nicht mit gespeichert werden sollen (siehe zur Notwendigkeit nachfolgender Absatz) sowie festgelegt werden, welche Log-Einträge erzeugt werden sollen.

Unter bestimmten Bedingungen (große Mengen von Daten im /media-Verzeichnis, umfangreiche Anwendungen wie Owncloud/Nextcloud im selben Verzeichnis wie WBCE) besteht auf Servern, die im FastCGI-Modus laufen, das Risiko, dass die Zip-Datei nicht vollständig ist.

In diesem Falle bitte in der Serverkonfiguration / dem Admin-Bereich des Webhosters die max_execution_time auf den größtmöglichen Wert setzen und problematische Verzeichnisse durch o.g. Anpassung der config.php ausklammern.

WICHTIG! Die vorherigen Versionen des Backup-Moduls haben das Bilderverzeichnis des Moduls "News with Images" (/media/.news_img) ausgelassen. Wenn NWI verwendet wird, muss, um sicherzustellen, dass ein komplettes Backup angelegt wird, eine Aktualsierung des Moduls auf v. 2.9.13 erfolgen!

Hinweis: Um das Backup-Zip lokal zu entpacken, nicht den Windows-Unzipper verwenden, dieser meckert über "ungültiges Format". Stattdessen ein Programm wie 7-Zip o.ä. benutzen.
